What we collect
Only what you type into the estimate form on this site: your name, phone number, email address, the location of your property, the kind of work you need, and whatever details you choose to add. We don’t ask for anything else, and there’s nothing else on this site that collects information about you.
Why we collect it
To get back to you about your project, to come look at your property, and to put together an estimate. If you become a customer, we keep your contact details and job records the way any contractor does — so we can find your file when you call us three years later about the other side of the driveway.
Who sees it
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to anybody marketing anything.
The people who see what you send are Matthew Scott and the Homestead Heroes crew members who need it to do the work. We will share it outside the company only when the job requires it — for example passing your property address and site details to a Licensed Site Evaluator designing your septic system, to a town code office as part of a permit, or to a subcontractor we’ve brought in for the plumbing or electrical — or if we’re legally required to.
How the form works
The estimate form is delivered to us by a third-party form service, which passes your message to our email and does not use it for anything else. Once it reaches us, it lives in our email and our job records.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising trackers. We use privacy-respecting visitor analytics that counts page visits in aggregate — how many people looked at the ponds page this month, that sort of thing. It does not identify you, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile on you.
Photographs of job sites
The photo gallery on this site shows work we’ve done on real properties. We don’t publish customer names, street addresses, or anything that identifies whose property it is. If you are a customer and you’d rather a photo of your job not be on here, call us and we’ll take it down — no explanation needed, no hard feelings.
How long we keep it
If you ask for an estimate and don’t hire us, we keep your inquiry while it’s still useful to follow up on and then it goes. If you hire us, we keep the job records as long as we need them for warranty, tax and legal reasons.
Your say
Call or email and ask us what we have on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We’ll do it. You don’t need a reason and you don’t need to cite a law.
Children
This site is for people hiring a contractor. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we’ll change this page and update the date at the bottom.
